In my current set up (there's a thread up in the studio design section). I think my best bet is to completely cover the rear wall with acoustic foam. My question is; there are so many different brands...can anyone recommend one? I was thinking auralex but I'm not sure, also, auralex doesn't sell on there own site, and although they link to dealers they don't link to any online retailers (at least ones that sell just wedges and not starter kits).
Im also not sure about 1" 2" 3" 4"
I'm thinking 4
any refs would be awesome
thanks!

Why not just go with plain old 703, or even just mineral wool or fiberglass insulation? It does pretty much the same job, and is much cheaper. Plus, you can by it at your local Hardware store, instead of having to pay to get acoustic foam shipped across the country...
because the wall has two doors and cutting to fit around those doors is going to be a lot harder with fiberglass. I am using 703 in the room, just not in this spot. Also I have to travel about an hour to the nearest place with 703 and I don't own a car so its not really local.
Sweetwater sells Auralex wedges online in just about every variety you could need.

Generally, 4" foam is going to be the best since it'll continue to help out at lower frequencies than others do. It money is tight though, you could go with 3" or 2" foam and space it out from the wall to get some added low end absorption.
