I'm very excited! I just rented an old bank building in Trafalgar, IN in which to set up my recording and photography equipment. I know just a little about recording and even less about the software I use (Logic). My sons are products of Full Sail - one in audio, another in video - and I think it would be nice to work with them one day.
The bank sports a main room which is, basically, a 21'6"x34' rectangle with a 6'x10' rectangle (the vault) cut out of the corner opposite the front door. I was hoping the vault would be large enough for an echo chamber (it has a curved ceiling about 7'6" high), but I don't think it will be. The rest of the room has a drop ceiling about 11'6" high.
The building was constructed in 1904 and sits on a crawl space. I haven't been in the attic yet, but believe it will afford some usable space. It has central heat and air. The owner is willing to sell at a "good" price.
Newer construction in back includes a kitchen and bathroom, and is fitted with a 60 gal water heater. I can't be certain, but I think it's wired for 100 amp service. I'll need to get an electrician in to tell me what it is I'm looking at. It's zoned commercial and I'll be spending virtually all my time there when not at work. I let go my apartment in order to rent the bank, and expect it's going to be tough to skirt a zoning violation.
I'll be moving in a pair of Yorkville YSM-1 monitors, powered by a Sansui AU-717 I bought for my brother back in 1977. I've got a Tascam 1884 and a Symetrix 528E. Mics include a Shure Beta58A, an EV RE20, and an AKG C2000B. I'll be recording original compositions and performance rehearsals, primarily acoustic guitar and voice, electric bass, and MIDI instruments.
I'll try to post a photo image of the bank. If you don't see it, it's because I haven't yet figured out how.

wicked space!
I'd assume the walls are thick "TNT resistant"!!
The vault might be a bit small for an echo chamber, but maybe you could find a big metal plate and build a plate verb or a smiple vocal booth.
Looking forward to your build- post a floor plan and internal pics.
PS- I hope it's not heritage listed!
