Hi I'm new here. This place is so full of useful information that my head is about to explode. I'm about to start sealing up my drywall and I need to know if I can use regular caulk like the one in this link: http://www.everbuild.co.uk/products/1,S ... essional/1 Scroll down to 125 One Hour Caulk which is the one i want to use. Or does it need to be specialized acoustic sealant like the ones listed in the reference area sticky above? Thanks.

Yes, you can use "regular" acrylic sealant.
But, please go to: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3231 first. Then we might help you any further! :)

Will this one work? I'm not sure about the differences between Latex and Acrylic...

Also, will there be any benifit using real acoustic caulk(Green glue?) in the chink's between walls and in intersections?
Thanks!
Green glue is NOT a sealant or caulk !!!
Anyway, I prefer silicone than acrylic sealants... acrylics tends to crackle (at least the ones that i've tried here)
Well, "Green Glue" itself is not caulk, but the Green Glue Company does also make acoustic sealant: http://www.greengluecompany.com/noisepr ... ealant.php - Stuart -Green glue is NOT a sealant or caulk !!!
Silicon is twice as expensive as acrylic and it can't be painted over (the paint will destroy the sealant) Here are the requirements for a good sealant; - Should have mass. A coulered sealant has more mass than a transparent one (about 1000 vs 1400 kg/m3) - should stay flexible - should not crack(!) - should not shrink much (5%-10% max) applying sealant is not the most difficult job, but you've gotta learn to get it perfect.Anyway, I prefer silicone than acrylic sealants... acrylics tends to crackle (at least the ones that i've tried here)
In that case make sure you get a good one. Ive first bought some acrylic ones (twice as cheap ! ) but like I said, it stayed kind of rigid and tended to crackle
Thanks for the info guys greatly appreciated.
