I've been reading on the forum but no specific answers.
When finishing a room, how should trim be affixed? (nail to wall? glue?)
Also, I've read about the problems with "Floating a floor." I think most of these conversations revolve around a floating floor system (pucks). What about "floating" hardwood as opposed to using glue or nails? I don't want nails but don't want the mess of glue.

Whatever you prefer. I prefer glue but often use a nailgun. Little nails will do fine too and won't be that ugly (esp when you paint the trim)When finishing a room, how should trim be affixed? (nail to wall? glue?)

I mean not attaching the floor to the underlayment/subfloor. http://www.hardwoodinstaller.com/hardwo ... loater.htmhuh? you mean just installing a wood floor directly on the ground? sure!
:) That's what I thought you meant. Sure, but you can't call it "floating" for real. (yeah, yeah, semantics). It's just a floor with a subfloor. go for it.
Looks like "laminate flooring" to me! :) They might refer to it as "floating floor", but it isn't a "floating floor" in the acoustic sense of the word.
