I keep hearing about LENRD traps not working for squat in the low frequency ranges. Isn't this what they were designed to do especially being $150 for 4 pieces of foam you figure they'd be a little more effective like they claim to be. What is everyone's thoughts on this? I was going to get 4 of these for the corners in the near future but am a little weary it's just wasted money and i should just build some 6" roxul triangle traps for the corners. Please your thoughts everyone!

There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible. Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will not reply if you do not do what is written in the post. Many others who are very helpful, will not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.
Its not that they don't work at all, they're just too small to do enough for most rooms. You can see a direct comparison of their absorption versus "real" bass traps, and also the Foam By Mail knock-offs that claim to be the same as LENRDs, but are not, here: Product Data --EthanI keep hearing about LENRD traps not working for squat in the low frequency ranges.
Mr. Winer, your comparison charts helped me a great deal grasping this concept. Thank you! It's a honor to have had you answer my post truly. You are an incredible addition to music in every way and society itself as a whole. The man! lol and thanks again!
he's also a great musician :thu:
Ethan has been a member of this forum since it started - he promotes his product on this site, he offers the alternative to my offerings. Whilst I design acoustic buildings, he offers straight forward pre- made acoustic solutions to existing spaces.
Hopefully one day I'll make it to NE US and meet him in person and we'll play music. ;)
Thanks John, I'm totally down for a visit! :inn:
