After months of planning and budgeting and changing and..... (you get the idea).... it's time to pull the trigger and finish this room!
Here are my wall options based on budget.
1) Use double 5/8" 'rock with Green Glue (3 tubes per 128sqft), attached directly to the framing.
or
2) Use min-clips and hat channel with double 1/2" 'rock and Green Glue (3 tubes per 128 sqft).
or
3) Use triple layers of 1/2" 'rock with double Green Glue (1.5 tubes per 128 sqft per layer)
Walls are part of an attic truss system. Weight is engineer approved. Main concern is some reduction of in-home transmission at mix levels but primarily isolation from exterior noises; dogs barking, cars driving by, etc.
My STC weakness is a door and window. I am replacing the hollow-core door with a solid-core door with a seal kit. I plan to make a tight fit 1/2" foam insert to cover the window.
The floor will be 1/2" particle, Green Glue, 1/4" MDF, recycled rubber underlayment, hardwood.
(I'm not looking for the scientific absolute answer. Just an educated opinion based on my options.)
Decision time - Which way to go?

That would be my choice, if those "mini clips" are the equivalent of RSIC clips. Do you have any specs on those? A link? - Stuart -2) Use min-clips and hat channel with double 1/2" 'rock and Green Glue (3 tubes per 128 sqft).
They are not the same as RSIC....

The "mini-clips" are identical to the link above but without the isolating rubber foot. (Which in my mind kind-of defeats the purpose.) The idea is the mini-clips lessen the number of flanking paths between the 'rock and frame.
Not as good as RSIC or other rubber-absorbing clips.
