I am building a studio out of a stand alone garage in an old neighborhood. My present goal is to not piss off my neighbors too much with my rock and roll. It is a 12 by 22 foot building and it is wood frame with 24 inch centers. It is on a poured concrete foundation. I am planning to do a staggered stud wall, with roxul insulation. I am thinking of putting vinyl flooring along the wall to mimic mlv. then do the next wall and do either quiet rock or 2 layers of drywall with green glue. I have to figure out how to vent the roof while maintaining sound insulation as well. If anyone has any thoughts, I am all ears. There is a lot to learn - i have learned that much. thanks, Kevin
Hi Kevin, and welcome. There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible. The announcement leads to this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes. - Stuart -
