Greetings forum! I did a search with no "new" results concerning decoupling double frames at door openings. A long time ago I found this post... viewtopic.php?p=22297 but I was wondering if there was any new posts/info concerning this topic. I need a way to have a nice "cosmetic look" transition between the two frames (with a door in each frame) but allowing the two frames to be decoupled. Thanx!
Stan - the simplest method is to make panels out of Homosote, wrap them in cloth and then use them to span between the two door frames. The homosote is soft fiberboard so it doesn't transfer the vibrations of one door frame across to the other.
