Hi guys, I spent a few hours digging this forum, its awesome, I also read ( I hope to remember) "BEFORE YOU POST, YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS", so with my limited english I will try to explain what do I want and I Hope you can help me guys. I am a musician from Lima Peru, I record most of the time with a macintosh and logic, with midi keyboard and guitar, also some vocals. I want to make a studio in a empty bedroom, what I want is a studio where I can record vocals without a vocal booth, just record in the control room, with phones..also want to mic guitar amps eventually. The most important part is that one of the wall bedrooms is just to my neighbor bedroom, I dont plan to scream guitars at night, but I have to consider the noise, also I will like to sing as a loud as I can without my wife getting crazy, also I have a very large window running to all the long of another wall, I am trying to include some photos, also i made my first sketchup, I hope is understandable. Here in Peru, all the walls , floor and ceilings are in concrete. I can spend about 1000 us$, more if needed to get a nice and modest acustical studio. I really dont know if I really need bass trap a cloud or not.. hope you can help me designing this.. What I know I can get here in lima is drywall, mineral fibers, MDF, what I am sure I cant not get here is green glue... I m very sorry for my english..please if you dont understand some part of this..if because it can be understandable with my english!!! Thank you.

How loud are you now? Without creating a room in a room, solutions are pretty limited regarding isolation. Perhaps you could put a better acoustic door to improve isolation to the rest of your house (wife) and reinforce windows (to prevent street noise coming into your room) Also, how thick are your concrete walls? all of them are concrete? You should test first your noise level before, maybe you dont even bother your neighbour if the concrete wall is thick enough About room treatement, I suggest spending a few DAYS or WEEKS on this forum to learn more about it. myself I spent months and I'm still learning a lot. So, please do your homework and propose us a design we could comment, because, one of the rules are NOT to post something like "hey, my room is 10 x 20 x 15, what should I do ? " The more effort you put on this, the more we will put at assisting you Saludos
got it, I have some ideas, but my sketchup level is worst than my english, I will try to draw a idea I have, just a clue..is it better to put the furniture and the monitors, close to the wall? or is better to put the my back to the wall?? or in the middle?? Do I need a bass trap in the corners?? Everything in the room is concrete about four inch thick.
All of those questions will be answered after giving some time reading this forum Trust me. I spend at least 1 hour a day reading it!
