Hello, This is my first post - I read the guidelines and I hope I got it Right. Really appreciate any help/ideas/suggestions. I Would like to know your thoughts on the use of this as a vocal booth. Of course I could also use it on my drum kit http://www.drumperfect.com/htdocs/Silencer_Systems.htm

Featuring a 5 panel drum shield (10 linear feet), 2 sets of 6.0 foot tall Sound Traps (8 linear feet) and a fully covered roof (3 roof panels). Approximately 6' tall, 6'4" wide, and 5'6" deep. Furniture quality construction and appearance, Portable design, Full roof with no gaps, Rigid panels that don't sag, 3 different models in either 6 or 6.5 foot tall, NRC rated .95 absorbing material, Door available for easy access and cable pass-through, Clean looking single panel drum shields - no extensions, 3 colors to choose from; Black, light grey and Mocha My issue is that I am currently recording in my control room - 15x13x7; single family residence house to right is 30 feat away; house to left is 45 feet away; Protools 7.3.2.; Mac Book Pro via Apogee Ensemble and Digi 003 Rack; Adam 7 Monitors and HSM 80 alternate monitors with 2x2 inch foam behind my mix position. I just purchased a Telefunken AK 47 Mic and it is much more sensitive than my Neuman TLM 103 was - I have white noise issues from my Windows PC and from HVAC system in the room and other house and people noise from other rooms; I am considering one or more of the following: a. Vocal Booth - 4x6 DIY or 6x.6.4x 6 feet tall (concerned about potential waste of money and getting worse boxiness/proximity lows) b. Additional Sound Treatment to include ceiling treatment and adding Roman Shades over my 22 inch wide, 72 inch long windows to left wall of mix position- currently have 7 foot tall stack of Bass Lenrds in each corner behind my mix position; 2x2 foot 2 inch cotton sound proofing behind each monitor; 2x4 foot 2 inch foam mounted behind mic position to right of mix position c. Homade Vocal Partition d. Store bought vocal partition - Aurelex Max Wall e. Simply shutting down my Windows PC during recording and turning off the HVAC Unit (but it still leaves other mild traffic noise from outside and noise from downstairs live room, bathroom, etc. in house) I have about $1,500 max to spend on additional sound treatment and I need to record vocals this weekend if possible.
