any takers?
Take a look at some of the other designs on this forum. I'm a newbie myself, but I do know that you don't want any parallel walls. Good luck! Christopher
how about this one

This is to scale and has a better control room geometry - you can always combine booth 1 with the live room. cheers john

thanx john this seems to work a little bit better.i just have e few questions though. #1 what is the reason for the console location? ( away from the wall)? # 2 also why the monitor/wall config?# 3 would it be a bad idea to remove the 2 sliding glass doors from booth # 2 and replace them with just a sight window on the same wall ? # 4 what is behind the couch? and will i need to contruct any kind of resonators? or anything else? im just trying to get an overall picture of things ill need to research so that i can get all of the answers before i start phase 2
here is an idea for booth # 2

The trouble with removing the doors from the control room to the booth is that you'll have a very long walk through several doors to move between them. A large pain for you when plugging stuff in or changing mic placement. Also an equally large pain for talent between takes. The area behind the couch is acoustic treatment, the monitors are soffit mounted for better performance, the console is further back to put your ears in the optimal listening position (follow the dotted lines to your head.) The answers to these and probably many other questions you have (or will have soon) can be found at the link John offered: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html Read through it all, and remember to click on all of the tabs along the top of the page to get to all of the material.
here is a new pic with measurements
