Hi all,
I'm currently making plans for a cheapo, vocal booth... priority is not isolation but is the acoustics (like I said, cheepo :-) )
Im making the booth from a stud timber frame, drywall sheets, and rocksilk fiberglass and acoustic material.
I want to get a medium weight door... but I dont really have any idea how you fit a door. I am quick to learner.. does anyone know where I can find some guides? I'v tried youtube but cant find what I am after.
I take it I need to:
Cut a door shape hole out of my plasterboard
then make a stud timber frame around the door hole (which the plasterboard will be skrewed to). build out where I want the door to close to.
Can I then simply hang the door on the frame work with hinges??
I will be using a seal on the door etc,, but my main concern is how to actually hang it,, and if my method seems ok for a DIY CHEAPO vocal booth??
:-)
Hope someone can give me some DIY pointers?
Cheers

ACCURATE DOOR FRAMING FOR PREHUNG INTERIOR DOOR
This is a fairly good video on framing for an interior door with no ceiling load. Somethings may have to be reinforced, like the size of the material.
