Hi Folks! I am in the process of creating a "mixing suite" (not for recording instruments or voice, only for mixing and "experiment", a sort of control room). I have already seen most studio designs examples and now i want to optimize the space that i have. The room is already built, so my purpose here is not to learn how to build a room, but how to treat the room and work with what I already have. Isolation is not my goal. My budget is 500€ Max. Measures are (HWL) 3.40 x 3.90 x 4.82 metres. See attachment. For other reasons i am forced to put the speakers/monitors in the longest wall (A). What I want to do in here is build some sort of modular treatment. Could I build some sort of removable absorbers giving me the 6 degree angles on either side that would be minimum for cutting out flutter echo? Then, my final questions are: Are necessary modular design-based "angled side walls", Angled side slot absorbers? Is broadband trapping the only solution? Is this John's design: http://johnlsayers.com/Stuff/components.skp a good solution for me? Any help is appreciated. And sorry for my bad english! Cheers.

hi, What other reason can you not place the speakers on the short wall? Do you have access to frequency analizing software? do an RT60 calculation do a room mode calculation
Hi, lilith_envy, thanks for the reply! I very appreciated it:)

In the original plan, for simplifying things i have wrote that Height is 3,50, to tell the truth the ceiling is a slope, from 3 to 4 metres (3,5 average), then with this soffit shape i cannot put the speakers in the shortest wall, or i can but isn't the best solution (from what i read in this forum). See my new attachment. The room measures falls approximately in ratio "1:1.14:1.39" ---> 3.5(avg)x3.99x4.86 Do you understand my bad english? :)

in this moment this is not possible because the room is "open": i have to buy the window and the door and mount it! From 1st post: "What I want to do in here is build some sort of modular treatment. AND REMEMBER: AS A NEWBIE, I TRUST IN YOU :) Very Very Thanks in advance. Sorry 4 my bad english, but explain is not very easy for me, hope attached layout helps!.

Aaronw, kendale, knightfly, John? i need your precious advice! anyone can help me?
Speaker placement is good @ that wall 'cuz of the ceiling slope. Dunno what your exact question is, but I'd advise to read this forum. Really, read and absorb the goods. Then you'll understand you need absorption at first. Basstraps to start with... Go ahead, get updated. Check Ethan's site too, it's a must.
