Hello,
I'm new here but have spent hours reading posts here as it is so useful - thanks.
Moved to Spain in September and am overseeing studio build. My partner's a musician, recording engineer and lecturer in music tech and he will move here permanently later in the year.
We are on a very limited budget. The studio area is a sort of separate part of our house and at the moment 3 of the four sides of the building are 40cm thick stone walls. Ceiling/roof terrace is cement covered with ceramic tiles. No attached neighbours but we are in a quiet street in a quiet village.
To maintain stone walls which are lovely and to keep costs down we are not using room within a room approach (are you all groaning?) but are aiming to isolate each component from other e.g. air gap round all concrete floors so that they don't touch walls. Some wall foundations laid already.
To divide control and live room we are using 20cm hollow concrete blocks filled with sand which I now understand must be dry. There is a 30cm air gap in between, and we intend to line all interior walls of this cavity with local "Rockwool" slabs Rocdan 231/40.

I've been told by tekkie at Danosa to use ordinary glue to stick these panels to the block wall.
Will use same method for fourth live room wall. Fourth wall in control room for now will be single skin sand filled blocks, but if we find it leaks to much we will address it afterwards.
To isolate walls from each other we are using a sort of membrane to stop the two touching.

I have just this minute realised that this is in the manufacturer's section on impact noise.... Idea was then to cover any tiny gap both sides with caulk. Having spent hours internet trawling and calling, have found a suppler in Portugal (mentioned in a thread here) www.totalacustica.com but lead time too long, and have also read that Sika flex, which appears to be available locally, will do.
Have had a lot of help from colleagues of my partner who own / design studios, but not on any of these latest details on materials.
Builders are here now (long story as to why they are here now and not in four weeks)
We cannot afford to make big mistakes now as no money to put it right later.
It would help if I could upload a plan but don't know how to do that on here.
I have several questions:
1) How do I upload plan?
2) How does all this sound overall?
2) Having just read that membrane is for impact noise, is using this a bad idea? Sound might travel across its width from one room to other?
3) Experience with Sika Flex - does it work? Exactly which product?
4) Am worried about a lot of things but right now, resonance (or is it reverberation, sorry, am very novice) in the space between our double walls. Is this going to be a problem? From what I read using green glue is the answer (to glue Rocdan panels to wall)? But this is a problem as I can't get it for 4 weeks (and builders here...)
Thanks for your help.

1.Green glue is not a glue.
2.I'm about to do an experiment with the sika flex product that never drys. Can't recall the name at moments.
Going to use it between two layers of dry wall as an adhesive/rubber membrane.
3.The only isolation that will be recommend on this site is air! No physical connection.
Sorry for the short answers. Bit busy ATM
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, especially when you are busy
1) I did wonder if green glue is only a dampening product, not a glue
2) Tekkies at Sika say the product is Sika Flex 11FC. Comes in various colours and is a commonly used product so was in stock at the local distributor here. Cost about €70 for 12 x 300ml tubes
3) Sounds like it's back to the drawing board then....
We have gone back to the drawing board, so the fundamental question is now in the Studio Design forum. Sorry if I've wasted people's time..
