Hi - Jonn Savannah - constructing studio in basement in Medford New Jersey, My contractor is about to start putting in the windows as per Rod Gervais book - he's wondering what the purpose of the rigid glass fibre is and can he just use wood instead. I'm sure nothing is in Rod's design that isn't there for a reason. Hope someone can shed light on this for me. Thanks - regards - Jonn
Hi Jonn If i understand your question correctly, rigid fiberglass in between the two windows is for decoupling of the two walls. Putting wood there instead of fiber glass is not a good idea, you'll then create a flanking path between your two walls. Also rigid wool will also keep "in between windows" reflection to a minimum. Hope this help
