rambler/ranch style home.
the green dots represent doors.
the red boxes are closets
the blue circles are windows.
the far west window is 3 feet off the gorund.
3'1/2 wide
3'9" tall
it is 4 inches from the wall, that interior wall [10'11"] has closets behind it.
the north windows are 2 1/2 ft off the ground.
4 ft long by 4 ft wide.
the window in room 1 is 12 inches from the closet door wall.
the window in room 2 is 24 inches from the [11' 5" wall] in (room 2)
The ceilings are 8' foot tall.
I wish to mix in room 1
and track vocals in room 2
In room 1
there is a desk [6 feet long]
a bookshelf [6'6" tall 1'6" wide & deep]
a daw.
project mix
keyboard
monitors [event tr6]
room 2 is empty save for the mic/stand.
[blinds on all windows.]
The hard part of the situation is:
I do not wish to have to reframe these rooms [i hope, please, maybe, slightly?], and spend money on something I'd have to "fix" later when I sell this house. [oh yes i shall sell it].
the basement isn't an option.
this is best case scenario as far as overall budget is concerned, all things considered.
speaking of budget obviously it isn't very big.
i'm all ears to suggestions of all sorts. [even the ones that may exceed the bank, but realistically may or may not be do-able.]
Honestly i was thinking of diffusers, bass & broadband traps, & blankets.
maybe even building a small booth within room 2 ?
as far as HVAC and the rest goes, everything which would make noise is off when recording.
I can not get a Db reading right now as I do not have a meter.
But I am not overly Loud, as I tend to be aware of ear sensitivity, fatigue, etc, etc.
neighbors?
I live on a culdesac 1 neighbor is loud, I can hear the bass needless to say i wouldn't record when she is playing music.
I'm not worried about pissing my neighbors off, I think i would have already. Standing outside you do not hear bass thumping like that other lady's home.
thats about all

Maybe I'm missing something?
If needs be to reframe the rooms then so be it.
I'm just trying to figure out how to go about getting the best sound I can given the situation.
Any tips on treatment would be very appreciated.
Hi ferrarit - Welcome to the forum. It's just a real quick hunch between takes here at Studio 4, but I'd very respectfully suggest that what you've provided in your post will yield little to no responses. This is not because you haven't read the stickies, or followed the forum rules, but more because what you have provided in your drawings is basically not enough for people to go on. Your measurements are two within a 16th of an inch - (very precise), but nicely coloured elipses will never convey doors or windows!
Can I further suggest you download Sketchup, (if you haven't done so already) decide to stay in until Christmas Eve while you learn how to use it, (it's a pig btw, but an awesome program nonetheless), then make an accurate .skp file of your area with all the detail etc, and you'll be amazed at how many world class pros will offer their help for free.
I'm not one of the above mentioned experts incidentally, just a pro muso who's just gone through the lot and come out the other side to tell the tale, with the very gratefull help of all the experts you're about to discover.
Put the time in - Reap the rewards!
Believe me it works, and since it will doubtless save you money and agro' it's well well worth it! :!:
Good luck with your project and kindest regards,
Lou. 8)
Thank you!
I did originally lay that out in sketchup.
Lol, I wish the tips you gave me had been in the stickies as well.
I'll go back and attempt to create a better layout, I tried to make them 3d at one point but it just wasn't working out.
Try to check youtube maybe for some decent tutorials.
Thanks a lot :)

Hey - No wories buddy, and, as I said I'm no guro, but, I do pay the mortgage with my studio!  Just do a bit of homework my friend, check back here in the New Year, and I promise you'll be looked after by all. Thease chaps are the finest you'll find for free anywhere on the planet. Kindest regards to you and yours dude, Lou. 8)Lol, I wish the tips you gave me had been in the stickies as well.
I'll second that, and add that it would be pretty hard to get better advice even if you paid a lot of money, since many of the guys here actually DO charge paying customers a lot of money for more or less the same advice we lucky leeches get for free! I can't figure that out, but I am extremely grateful for it!Thease chaps are the finest you'll find for free anywhere on the planet.
