Hey everyone. I've been reading all the posts and trying to digest all the information and cross-reference things on my own before I posed my initial post. I've currently reside in Nashville, TN in an apartment (13'3"x11'3"x8'). As far as an air gap with a bass trap, if i leave an air gap in the corner, how can I make sure the trap stays standing if it's not leaning against the wall b/c of being spaced out from the wall for the air gap?
I don't fully understand your question, but when a bass trap straddles a corner it should be tight in the corner. There's already a built-in gap that is sufficient. If this is not what you're asking, please clarify. --Ethan
Hi Ricochet, Can I suggest that you click on the link to "realtraps.com" in Ethan's signature (above)? That will take you to his web site, where there is a huge amount of information on installing bass traps correctly. - Stuart -
You answered my question sir. Thank you. And I guess I wasn't being that clear in my wording. In my head I was thinking about a post I saw somewhere where it was talking about more than 4" from the wall which then would be too far to lean it against the walls. I apologize for any confusion in my wording.
