I am planning to buy Primacoustic broadband acoustic panels and their Fulltrap bass traps.
But they are heavy mothers.
Not the sorts i have seen mentioned in the threads on this forum which are 10-12lbs.
Recomendations from their site is to use wall anchors capable of holding at least 55lbs.
I will need to mount these panels on both my double wall made of gypsboard (the usual-2 gypsboards, metal stud filled with rockwool construction) and on beefed up brick wall which will be beefed up with some rockwool and 2 gypsboards on metal stud.
Extreme care will be taken to properly finish these walls and now it looks like i will have to drill into them and possibly create problems.
1. Is it possible to mount such heavy panels on gypsboard wall at all?
2. How do i mount heavy acoustic panels on walls withot compromising isolation?
How to mount heavy acoustic panels?

Maybe you could mount them on stands, instead of on the wall? That would also give you more flexibility, as you could move them if you needed to.

Thank you for your suggestion.
I dont know if that is possible, considering.
First, it wouldnt look tidy, plus i will have like 10 or 12 of those in CR.
Imagine 12 panels on stands in control room.
Second, it would take too much space.
I think i will either have them on walls or i will not have them at all.
Does the manufacturer have any suggestions? They must have instructions available somewhere.
I would contact your builder or a contractor, or your local hardware store about heavy duty anchors... 55# sounds like a lot of weight even if it is shear loading and only a couple inches thick!
You will need to be dead on with your screws/anchors that you anchor into the studs... Drywall isn't going to support a 55# load as far as I know. You might be able to place heavy duty screw eyes into the ceiling joists and hang the panels with picture wire which is available to hold a 55# load. Probably the best solution overall.
Best of luck on your build.
