Hi,
I write there because I need some help to optimize my control room...
I tried to be very exact in the measure. I just forget to mention the height of the room: 9.84ft.
My questions are the following :
- Should I reverse the room ?
- Should I treat my control room as LEDE ? (I don't know if it's possible because of the length of the room 14.07ft)
- if yes, can you help me to place my absorbers/basstraps (Dead end) and diffusors/bass traps (Live end)
- Should I put a wooden floor instead of complete carpet ?
- and should I use a cloud ceiling on the all ceiling surface ?
I thank you to take the time to complete my request :-)

Howdy Calimero welcome to the JLS forum!Hi, I write there because I need some help to optimize my control room... I tried to be very exact in the measure. I just forget to mention the height of the room: 9.84ft.
Yes, or you'll have sound from monitors reflecting back earlier 'cuz of the splayed walls TOWARDS your RFZ.My questions are the following : - Should I reverse the room ?
No, that's something to consider in a tracking/recording room.- Should I treat my control room as LEDE ? (I don't know if it's possible because of the length of the room 14.07ft) - if yes, can you help me to place my absorbers/basstraps (Dead end) and diffusors/bass traps (Live end)
You've got my vote :) If so, make a "soft" ceiling. Wood floor is okay. Carpet can suck out all the "highs" in your room. With wood you have more control (and adjust reflections at your ceiling using absorbers)- Should I put a wooden floor instead of complete carpet ?
not on all but atleast above your mixing place. Use cloud and wall absorbers on first reflection positions (use the "mirror" trick) to create an RFZ.- and should I use a cloud ceiling on the all ceiling surface ?
No worries, mate.I thank you to take the time to complete my request :-) Friendly Sébastien
Thanks a lot Ro for your advices...i will take care about...
I have another question...i thought to build a double wall with 2' insulation on the all front surface, including my loudspeakers... what do you think about this ? can it be good for kill some low frequencies ?
Thanks again
I'm not really sure if I'm following you here but my first reaction would be "I wouldn't do that". Read the forum, check the "multiple leafs" topics. Unless that "red" area IS the double wall... what exactly do you mean? Low FRQ is hard to stop, it needs mass, mass and.. mass. Pref in 2 leafs, not more. Thanks a lot Ro for your advices...i will take care about... Hi, it's not easy to describe something that i have in mind but i try it...
Consider that the red area from the post before is a double wall I plan to build. On the plan that i send with this post I show the goal I have but in 3D perhaps you'll understand better what I want realize.
The idea is to build a wall (with wood, plasterboard and insulation) in front of the room concrete wall :-) Just to control the LF and to integrate my speakers...Is this still wrong ?
Yes, that's considered a triple-leaf and there for "wrong".
Looks like you want your monitors placed WITHING the inner layer of the room.. something that seems like a trend these days. I've seen more topics about that recently. I advise not to go that route.
First add a wall in your existing room covering all walls (and ceiling). Than ADD a soffit "wall" which isn't a wall with mass. (huh?).
Consider M-A-M. Mass-Air-Mass. That's the best way to build.
hmm, did I make myself clear? darn....
