Heres a sketchup file i did, to build Johns Broadband absorber.

cool stuff, tho I'd vary the slats and gap a bit more in width to make it more broadband.
I used the slat widths from Johns plan.
But I found out, that 50mm (slat) and 6mm (slot) is the same frequency.
So maybe it would be better to varify it a lot more, than just 4 diff. slots-
