Hi Everybody,
In my future live room, there are two wardrobes with WxHxD 100x200x60cm each.
Each wardrobe has two doors, obviously 50cm each, with 2cm thickness.
Inside, there are winter clothes, shoes, blankets, other stuff....
I thought of drilling well-calculated holes into the doors, and seal the back of the wardrobes with silicone. eg. 12 holes with 10cm diameter, would bring about 50Hz... (dont have the calculator here, right now....)
I would try to kinda seal the doors, where they are seating on the frame when closed. In the middle, I could nail some overlapping wood block, so also the middle slot is kinda closed. The doors should still be fully openable at all times!
will it be any good? or better get rid of the wardrobes and build the right stuff?
thx,
Mike

no ideas? is this idea so stupid? or ok? :)
Not stupid, but probably not very useful either.

hi Ethan, thanks for your answer!
I doubt that this construction has no impact on sound absorption, since we are talking about 2,5m2 of surface... this is quite some space in a small room like mine (20m2 room size, 2,34m height)
those wardrobes are 60cm deep, there has to happen something, if you drill the right holes...
