mmm, dunno.
I've seen you make a dozen designs and not one of'm makes me horny.
altho that last design could work.
But the fact that you can enter the tracking room without knocking ain't my perfect plan. But, if it works for you, I'm sure this design is good.
The CR is symmetrical, splayed walls ect. Jup, the plan could work. I really wish Gullfo would wake up from the dead and present one of his designs to you, he's the master.. . . :P

I have looked at it and wondered how many walls you have? In some places it seems, mass-air-mass. In others, mass-air-mass-air-mass. Is that just a trick of the lighting or does anyone else see that?I can't imagine that you all look at it and think, wow this is so good, i don't have to write it down in a post.
I've now officially decided this is going to be the layout.
Today I draw the lines on the floor of the studiofloor to see how it looks and we'll start next week.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the situation now and make this topic a studiobuilding blog.
Thanks in advance
Hey,
Glad you got rid of the tree's!
So as far as de-coupling the inner leaf from the outer, looks like the last set of pictures has solved the issues I saw.
What will you be recording?
You do live gigs and recordings, why the 5.1 surround?
Do you think in the future you would soffit mount the front pair?
lil
...and the ceiling!
each room will have it's own right?
I'm planning to record mainly bands, but will do some film and concert 5.1 productions as well. Thats why I planned the 5.1 setup.
Each room will have it's inner roof, the roof will rest on the inner walls and hang underneath the existing ceiling.
Soffit mounting is a point of discussion, i'm not really planning on doing soffit mounting. Because you haven't got any possibilities to move the speakers afterwards. Ofcourse you got some advantages and disadvantages of soffit mounting, but mainly because I haven't got a clue which speakers i'm going to use (probably Adam S2.5a), I'm not planning to soffit mount the speakers at first build.
Well, two months since my last post and we are still busy with the studio.
The design has changed a few times and the final plan is now here! I made a choice to store our live PA equipment elsewhere and use the entire space for the studio.
In December we'll begin with the walls, so two more weeks to go. :yahoo:
Next week I'll post some pictures and keep you guys informed!
You can see the last drawing I made and ofcourse you can tell me what to change, still two more weeks to go :D
Next week we'll start building, it took a little more time then expected :-( but next week it'll finaly start.
