A friend and I have been building two studios in one building. We built the seperating wall as per gervais's book and it worked out great. We are still getting some bleed coming in thru the ceiling from an attic space that is about 6 feet high. It has 2x4s going across it and then the actual ceiling is made of small 1/4" by 1 or 2 " slats and it's filled with stucco.
So sound is going up into the ceiling bouncing off the roof and coming down into each others studio, not too bad but there is just a bit too much coming in at the moment.
I was thinking of insulation and then soundboard on top of that but was wondering what advice we could get on here.
I lent my copy of Rod's book to a friend and obviously need to get it back but I was wondering what solutions anyone on here may have.
Thanks,
Eddie

Did your "seperating wall" go up into the attic space?
No, we weren't able to do that.Did your "seperating wall" go up into the attic space?
It is probably where sound is jumping over at.
Can I assume this is not room in a room construction? Seems that if it was, this condition would not be an issue, so that is where I am coming from.
