There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible. The announcement leads to this post. Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will not reply if you do not do what is written the post.

A suggestion for a basic design for cloud, panels and bass trapps. The two designs are based on std. insulation sizes in Norway. typical dimensions are 570mm x 1200mm. therefor, inner dimensions of frames will be 57cm x 120cm, or half: 57cm *60cm. the larger design is intended for clouds and bass traps (hanging at 45degrees in corners) and the smaller ones is intended for use hanging on walls.

Added acoustic treatment to Bathroom studio. Will this setup do anything for the listening environment? Added 8 panels at 45 degrees in the corners. had to use two panels per corner due to height. added 6 panels behind mixing desk. should these be located at surface or do a gap between them and the back wall do any extra benefits? added 1 panel as cloud. insecure about positioning, but the purpose is to reduce first reflections from ceiling? Will probably add downlight to the ceiling construction, and probably use plain white fabric.

Added basstraps to surround studio layout. Also plotted mirror test results. (sitting at mixing position and noticing where you see the speaker front when someone moves a mirror round the walls of the studio) Only added results for the left side of the room, the right side will be identical. Treatment for reflections will be added where the line hits the wall.

if you can have a friend hold a fairly large mirror against the wall while you sit at the desk, have the friend move the mirror around the room (along the walls about half-way between you and the speaker locations) and place fairly thick mineral wool absorbent (like at least 3 inch thick, mounted with at least 3 inch air gap behind - 4" and 4" would be better in this case) mounted anywhere you can see either speaker in the mirror. These treatments should be fairly good sized, like at least 3 feet by 3 feet (1 meter square) or larger.
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... c&start=19 This calls for a change of size. using two insulation mats will give an absorber sized 125x125 cm. Four of those placed at each wall will probably help in the surround studio. Still wondering about what to do behind the mixing position.
