Dear all, I contact GG dealer in my area and ask him how muc area will be covered uisng 1 tube GG. He answer : 1 tube of Green Glue will cover a 4’x8’board (32sqft). You might also need a caulk gun cost S$40.00 as it is a much bigger size. It's new for me, so I ask do I need caulk gun, and what for? He answer : You need a caulk gun to dispense GG out of the tube like silicon sealant. Please double check if you have a caulk gun over at your side that can dispense 29oz size (an American size not commonly used in Singapore). Is it correct? Base on your experience, do you need a caulk gun to dispense it? Thanks alot.
LOL Yes, you need a gun. It's just a tool to apply kit/gg. It's used to squeeze the stuff out of the tube and apply it the right way. Do some research, visit the local hardware store and check it out yourself. GG is applied the same way as caulk/kit is. There are different gun sizes, for GG you need the big guns :)
Get the caulk gun... you can use something else (I have used my own hand to get GG out of the tube) but anything else will be more work.... and when you have 80 tubes to use... better get the caulk gun
Even though there are alternative ways to get the contents of tubes like these out of the container, several benefits exist when using a gun to dispense. One of many reasons to get the caulk gun is that Green Glue, specifically, is to be applied in a random pattern on the surface. Using a caulk gun, this is both very simple and takes very little time (efficient). If you where to try and create your own dispensing tool, that might prove both time consuming and ineffective. Last but not least. If you already spend quite a lot of money on actually buying Green Glue; Buying a caulk gun is more or less peanuts. Well, IMHO, that is. Best of luck to you Audio. /Gash
Thank you everybody. That's what I love being this forum member (is it same "member" in rod's book? LOL) Because you can ask everything (including stoopid question like I did) that will cost money... Thanks alot guys.... :)
I am sure you can locate a cheaper quart size caulk gun in your home town. 40 bucks...price gouging is what I call it.
