My control room is 7ft h x 11'2 w x 18'3 l. It is in my basement. I have R-30 insulation in between the floor joists. For the ceiling I was planning on covering it with studio cloth to have a soft ceiling. Is this a good idea? What should I use on the floor, all hard wood or all carpet or a mix of the two?
I'm going for the best acoustics. Isolation is not the big priority.

From what you have described, the ceiling with fabric and a solid floor is the best.
