I am a lucky guy: We are in the process of buying a house with a garage big enough to build a small studio in. It's not ment to be a recording studio, but a practice studio for playing African Percussion. (djembe, douns and gloche) and thats loud! The flourplan of the garage is not squared, but at the front about 3,6 meters wide and in the back 3 meters and at this moment its just sand covered with large bricks, the length is 5 meters. There is no roof (yet!) so I have a lot of freedom as far as my ceiling for the studio to be is concerned and I guess that it would be good to have the ceiling inclined. My question: Will it be best to have the lowest part of the ceiling in the narrowest part of the room, or at the widest, and why?
With the risk of seeing a pattern forming: What are you trying to accomplish? If you could make a somewhat more detailed post I bet your chances of getting a decent response will increase. So please, describe away. /Gash
There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible. The announcement leads to this post. Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will not reply if you do not do what is written the post. As far as angling the ceiling goes, that is referred to as splaying it. As per the aouncment at the top of the forum, do a search for "splayed ceilings".

I have been reading this page you mentioned, but since English is not my native tongue, I didn't know the term "splayed ceilings". Sorry for that!
"and I guess that it would be good to have the ceiling inclined. " /quote I don't know why someone would guess this. From a building point of reference...it's just not worth it.

Nothing to apologize for. The word "splay" is not commonly used, That is why I did provide that information in my first post in this thread. Andre
