I have a control room that needs flooring in it. I know that hardwood is the most desireable for its looks and also because it reflects some sound making it sound live, and yet obsorbs some high frequencies. But it also is unfortunatly expensive. So my question is this. What would happen if I used laminate? I would imagine that it would reflect ALL sound, including high frequencies, but could I still have a good sounding room by doing that and maybe covering the whole ceiling with R19 insulation panels covered in cloth? Or if there are any other suggestions I'm compleatly open.

There is no acoustic difference between hardwood and laminate for floor finish. Enjoy!
