My name is Roberto Soriano work as an Airline Pilot en my country El Salvador and I used to have a small Studio some time back! I had to dissassemble that studio for many reasons and now a days I am planning to build a Room in my house from Scratch!
Now back in the Days my studio Basically was a control room and the Live recording Room... Didn´t know much about Bass traps and many other stuff I have been reading about basically my only main concern was not to disturb neighbours! The room was very sound proof basically waht we did we covered the Whole room with 2 inch Thick Foam and the sound just didn´t go out :) Yeah a bit stoneage but it worked! Now a days I want to do it better... used those Sound proof tiles and Bass traps and I will like suggestions...
My first question would be could I put 2 inch foam again to make it sound proofy or are there better ways?? Just as a note in El Salvador wood is not our main Building method we mostly use concrete walls...
Thanks for any help.
Roberto

Any Help please?
Roberto,
The answers to your questions are in the "stickies" at the top of the forums. You're probably not getting help because those questions have been asked and answered many times here.
Foam is next to worthless for "soundproofing" isolation. You are going to need a " room within a room" if you are serious about not disturbing the neighbors unless they are really far away. We're talking 2 completely decoupled walls and ceiling all the way around.
A pot of coffee and a few days reading here would be the best favor you could do for yourself. It can be overwhelming at first, but it will be worth it if you do your homework.
Thank you for your answer will try doing that!

Roberto
