Hey Ross, My Iso Room ceiling actually has a somewhat similar shape to yours. Here's two more pics. One with just the staples and the next one with the wood trim started. I don't think you have worry about height restrictions with the wood trim though. I just used 1/4" wood for the trim, and you could even get away with 1/8" if you really needed to. I don't think something that thin would really encroach on the room too much. To save money, I just bought a 4'x8' sheet of plywood with a nice finish on the face and used a table saw to cut out a bunch of strips probably about 1.5" wide or so. A sheet was only about $12 US and you'll get a lot of trim out of a single sheet.

By the way, I just tacked on all of the trim with finish nails. Nice and Easy.
Hi Ross, studio is looking great, bet you can't wait till its finished. Something that is puzzling me…… I can see your interior frame with rockwool in the gaps, but I don't see any Plasterboard mounted to this ? Its not clear from the pics - have you built two frameworks, but only attached Plasterboard to the exterior one? I thought you were doing a two leaf approach ? My timber arrives this week, can't wait to get started on mine!
The timber looks so good, you don't want to cover it with plasterboard! :D What is going on there?
What is going on there?
i think it's all inside/out construction .
Thanks for the tip delusion, if the trim is really thin like you suggest, I'm sure it will be fine. If I can find some 3mm strip wood, that would be perfect. Thanks Steve, I really can't wait now! The interior framework does have plasterboard behind the fibreglass, but because I was trying to maximize the internal dimensions, I decided to put it on the inside of the framework rather than the back- the plasterboard panels have the same dimensions as the fibreglass panels. I cut the plasterboard panels as tight as possible, and they're held in place with caulk and nails, and obviously friction. It's surprisingly strong! Good luck with your framework, I really enjoyed putting mine up.

Thanks lilith, like I said, I really enjoyed that part of the construction. I'm covering the walls and ceiling in fabric, which I now have- very exciting! And John's right of course, it's inside out construction. He was also kind enough to pm me to remind me to line the walls and ceiling with plastic sheeting before fitting the fabric to retain some high end clarity. Thanks again John.
Hi Ross, Ah, that makes sence now…... I couldn't see any photos with Plasterboard in the gaps, so you must have been covering with fibreglass as each one was done. The framing really is a work of art. Have you used Rockwool in the gaps? If so, which type and who did you order it from ? Can't wait to see what colour covering you have gone for. Regards Steve
cmon.... photos!!! :D
Has anymore progress been made on this? interested to see the finished results :D
Hi there, all these projects going on in the Ipswich area, I live in Ipswich to, and am currently building a shed/tool store first before getting rid of my existing shed to build a control room and live room, outer shell will be concrete block with an inner leaf of stud work, I will look forward to following your updates.
