I'm nearly ready to order all the insulation for my studio build and I'm wondering what the difference is between "rolled" insulation and "slab" type.
Most people seem to be using Rockwool RW3 or RWA45, or Rocksilk RS45/RS60. I was planning to use RS45 but its looking like it will cost about £300 for 15 packs (5x100mm per pack).
Is there any difference in acoustic properties between the two. Wickes have buy one get one free on their loft insulation here: Wickes
This: also seems like a good buy if it performs similarly to RS45 etc.

Heres the PDF datasheet:

Does anyone have any info on "roll" insulation and it suitability for acoustic absorbers? I'm looking to use it as bass traps and inside slat resonators.
Cheers

It''s a rip to get it down, but once you do, it works on everything!
My bad - haven't posted here for a while and just used the url tag button.
Any idea on the insulation?=D
Gareth
Never mind, just bought 15 packs of Rocksil RS45 100mm.
For reference, it worked out at £17.56 a pack, including VAT and Delivery from Travis Perkins

Stateside, there isn't any difference in a product, all things remaining the same, if it is rolled or batt type. If the R rating is the same and faced or un-faced is the same, then there is no difference.
