Long time lurker here. I am very close to closing a deal on my new place (aiming for 8th August) and have been trying to get together a basic floorplan I like to take to a couple of designers to get a quote for doing it properly. (I've basically used Sepmeyer/Louden type ratios but have no intention of doing the final geometry myself - I hate numbers). Ceiling height is 3.5 metres at the lowest point and about 5 metres at the highest. (1 metre basically equals 3 feet). There's also another floor (more lounge space/ a viewing gallery) covering the whole area to the left of the live room. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or practical suggestions on where I've got to so far:
I can't speak for anyone else but I need more detail then 1 metre basically equals 3 feet ;) Like where doors and windows are located. Are the non-parallel lines on the drawing the actual wall locations? What type, size of structure is this to be located in? Thanks, Brien
Sorry. Front door is at end of hall on left hand side. Back door is on opposite end where it says 'store'. At the moment nothing is fixed except the shell (there are no internal walls except the kitchen, wc and lounge). I envisaged the doors & windows between the rooms to be where the light blue sections appear on the internal walls. Any comments would be useful. Also any recommendations for designers in the UK would be awesome. (this is only intended to be a rough roomplan for me to take to the chosen designer) Thanks Trev
Just realised I didn't say previously: building is double skinned with concrete block (inside) and brick (outside) construction with a small air gap between. Internal dimensions of building are listed in sketchup above. Outide dimensions are just a few inches bigger.
