I recently posted in search of layout ideas. I am trying to come up with some ideas that would allow me to use the space i have to the best ability. I am in the planning phase right now. I have a garage that is 19x20x10. It is built on a concrete slab. It is partially finished.
I wanted to be able to record vocals as well as live drums. I have a neighbor on the left side of the house which is about 10' from the outside wall of the garage. He is also a musician and plays loudly from his practice room upstairs. In my current studio/computer room i am listening at about 75db. The type of music i produce is mainly R&B/Hip hop.
I am also looking at preserving a small portion toward the front of the garage to make a small storage space. I must keep the wife happy!
I have attached a small layout of the present garage, and also a simple layout that i came up with. Im not to certain if this is a good layout, but i was trying to see what i could come up with on my own.
As far as budget, i was trying to stay around the $2500-$3000 range. Any help is appreciated!

Are you sure you need the small booths? Would a one-room design work better for you? It'd certainly be simpler to fit a one-room design into your budget. For more on this, see the following article:

That said, if you do want to go with 2 small booths, I think you could find a better design. Search around on the forum, for instance, the one in this thread looks like it's close to your dimensions:

Thanks for the ideas. I was was wondering if this design would work. Again this is just an idea...I'm still learning how to use sketchup, so powerpoint is the best I can do. Is this design realistic?
i'd look into a better ratio for the CR and perhaps smaller and enlarge the drum room (drums like space).
