Other Options Then Puttying Drywall

Hows it going guys...LOVEEE this forum...Unbelviable Info..Props to everyone.. Well my question is..Will sound bounce off differently if i added panniling to my drywall or added some sort of texture such as stacho or paint which is sprayed on etc.... Iam building alittle controlroom in the basement and iam not worried about puttying the walls which i am not experinced in... I want to do something different by adding a look to the wall.Which invloves less time and cost efficent...I will be adding bass traps and absorbers all over the room..Just worried about the wall....Thanks in advance
