I'm trying to find threads on installing a glass window between a control room and a live room. I've searched but have not come up with much. Can someone post some links if they know of any threads that cove this? I thought there would be a sticky for this thanks
check the "REFERENCE AREA" sticky above, scroll down and there's a "Installing A Double Window" thread hope this helps,
Great, thank you another question. I'm building my studio window the same as how rod gervais explained in his book on pg 91 (isolated frame splayed window) So I've been checking around town, for my glass, and I found a place that seems to know what they are talking about. They are trying to sell me two pieces of glass. Each of which are comprised of the following: 1/4 inch laminated glass- 1/2 inch air space- 1/4 inch annealed glass. I was just about to order this, when I thought of the mass spring mass law. So my question. because I am building the window with glass- 10 inch airspace- glass, will the fact that the actual windows themselves are built with mass spring mass principal hinder my isolation?
Chord, yes it will affect you. You do NOT want insulated units - you only want a single pane of glass at each location. And the sizes they are quoting are probably not large enough - double check your mass as explained in the book. Rod
Thank you Rod. you really saved my butt there. I was so close to buying them.
