I wanna turn my bedroom into somewhat of a home studio with a vocal booth and all that and a control room but I don't think it would work very well because the space. Basically, I would have to build a vocal BOX with a window and stuff and plant some speakers and foam in it, and then have the rest of the room as the control room, where everything would just come from my PC (I don't use all those mixers and effects and everything...just FL Studio and other programs for mixing/mastering).
I made a floor plan sketch of my room and now I just need some help on where I should place things. Keep in mind (not in the sketch) there needs to be room for a single-sized mattress (approximately 6 feet x 4 feet) and the "control station" which would be my computer desk and computer. The computer desk is approximately 4½ to 5 feet long and 2½ feet long.
Thanks!

why not treat the room, use the closet for trapping and a machine closet (so the room is quiet) and then use the entire room for a vocal booth?
There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to assure getting as many responses as possible. The announcement leads to this post. Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will not reply in any way if you do not do what is written the post.
I mean I have clothes in my closet and stuff. It's not really gonna a "studio" room but more of a bedroom that serves as a studio. I think I'm going to build a vocal booth instead and then just use that for the vocals, since I don't use live instrumentation (and if I did, it would be connected directly to the computer)why not treat the room, use the closet for trapping and a machine closet (so the room is quiet) and then use the entire room for a vocal booth?
Sorry for hijacking but could u elaborate on the "how to" use closets wardrobes for trapping, or point me some link? THX PBwhy not treat the room, use the closet for trapping and a machine closet (so the room is quiet) and then use the entire room for a vocal booth?
the closet is partially closed in? ergo, adding some absorption over the front of it, and inside it, will provide some much needed trapping. you could also do things like embedded boxes partly into the closet for slat resonators or panel traps, and then the rest of the space for bass trapping.
Gullfo, i´ll be moving to another house in the fall where i have a closet on the back wall, but the room is rectangular (the closet doesn´t go further in the room, it alignes with the back wall), so i´m studyng what to do then....like filling the closet up as suggested and so forth..
THX Gullfo :)
