First post here guys. There's so much info here (and around the worldl wide wibble) that i've always had questions answered by other people's posts.
But now i'm interested in finding out more about hangers... and (aside from one or two interesting threads here) i've come up short on a few questions.
I'm very interested to know if anyone has tried to put acoustic hangers in the space between rooms in a "room in room" design. Ie, you have your outer sealed leaf, and happen to have room between that rooms rectangular walls and the (say) 10degree splayed walls of the "inside" sealed room. Now, would placing hangers in this space do *anything* to the bass response of the room? Same for ceiling (and i may have a room that has a large amount of usable space in the ceiling.... Or has everyone created the second "leaf" at the top of the ceiling, hung the hangers, then put in a false fabric ceiling below this?
I'm a huge fan of both panel and "super chunk" bass absorbers, but as with anything, I'd like more info on another "tool" in acoustics design that might just solve some problems one day (or, present an alternative solution!)
FWIW, I might be able to do a test in a med size (90m3) recording live room with some hangers / other traps in a month or two time... i'd love to get some empirical evidense for these things if at all possible. But this would be "in the room" not "in the walls"
Comments / References / questions / info please! :)
Cheers, Brendan.
