Hi there,
First, i want to thank for all the help you giving in this forum. you have really good information over here.
now, with my request, i like to have an advice from you with a new studio that i'm going to build.
We rent a place in a quite shopping center, and we like to know what is our best option the build our studio without making too much noise to the others, and much more importent to have the MOST accurate sound (much more important from the noise to the others).
we going to produce in this studio mostly electronic music, but we also like to have a drums and a vocal both, couse we also going to record some rock music.
i have attached 2 rough sketches, if you need any more information please tell me and i'll sent it.
Best regards....
need advice with a studio design.

Hello, i would like to add couple of things that my partner dident wrote on the previous post..
or maybe ill just start it all over ..
my name is Tomer 26 , from israel ( hello all ! ) the guy posted above is Idan 26.
first let me say that my english is NOT top notch somtimes ill have to use alot of words to describe ... but ill give it a shot.
ive lurked around here alot, reading as much as i can, learning the basics of acoustics and trying to arrange exactly my plans for the future.
im in the process of reading "sound construction on a budget", im not getting much with my english...
ive come to conclusion that invest tons of money on a place that im only renting will be stupid, ill could be out of there in a year, maybe 5 .. who knows.
ill save the serious construction to my future house, in the future of course where my studio will eventually be there for good.
but i still want to get the best i could out of our room acoustic-wise, without serious construction, of course only if possible..
ill try to supply as much info as i can.
The place:
the room located at 2nd floor in a commercial/shopping center building, all stores closes at 6pm, thats about the hour we start work, so noise out is not a serious issue here but we would like to treat that too.
Room size:
width 3.40m
length 10.35
hight 3.17m
room notes:
- the front of the store is 1.5mm glass, so as our door.
- both right & left wall are concurred, theres 2 walls on the right side separating us form our right neighbor : 28cm wall -- 4cm airgap -- 22cm wall
- the left wall is 24cm
- our back side have a 1.70m window that stretch all over from side to side.
- metal and wood gallery that were planning to remove. its useless.
(all that info is also in a .png file with the exact measurements of the room.)
BUDGET:
i could say $3000, but if ill need more then that ill not stop construction. im planning to do all it takes.
GEAR:
about 3 side racks 1m hight +- for dynamics/fx
Focal twin6 be & ns'10's as our monitors
toft 32ch console & 4 keyboards synths
oki...
our main goal:
A: is to set up a treated (as much as we can) a control room mainly for electronic music production.
B: combine mixing position & recording space in 1 room.
C: record guitars/drums as well
D: a vocal booth.
have i forgotten anything ?
many thx in advance, for any more info needed, im not leaving this site soon.... thx again! :D
i did thanks. read the 1st reply of the thread.
a bump ... anyone ???
