Is there such a thing as the perfect recording environment?

Hi all, I am currently writing my dissertation for my BA Honours degree in Music Production, i'd like to hear anyones thoughts on what they think is the ideal recording environment and why? I thought this forum would be the place to ask given the vast collective knowledge on here, i would very much appreciate everyones opinion on this as i'm sure there will be agreements and disagreements in places which will make for a great list of pros and cons for me consider when writing my final piece, thanks very much to all who willing to share their knowledge with me, Jules :D
