Ok, so attached you will see my space. I have a friend who is die hard in to music, playing, producing, etc... So i know nothing. I just listen to it. However, I design custom homes for living, and there seems to be a lot more intrest in home studios. So, I want to be the first to try this design, and eventually this could act as a bench mark for how I design them in multi-million dollar homes. I know nothing on sound design, how it works, angles of walls, etc..
My questions are this:
Can some one please give me a basic design to fit this space. I have a $1000 budget and have a $200 flex to that. I'm a D-I-Y type of person, have experience in framing, and building pretty much anything. So this project i will be doing my self. I have no idea where to start, where things should go?
My friend has all of the equipment, key board, speakers and all that good stuff. I just have to build it and they will come! :) I need the basic control room, with room for a 9' wide couch, area for mini fridge.
The walls all are 8" thick block. the ceiling is constructed out of 2x6 sloped at a 1/4" per 12". why they built it this way i have no idea. but that is what i have to work with. if someone could help me out, that would do me wonders?
Odd studio design space, future projects
