HI All!
I'm planning on constructing an isolation booth with 2 sliding glass doors. I've read through Rod Gervais' fantastic book and perused this great site for preferred methods in which to do so, but i'm still left with a few question marks.
I'm going to be using the two leaf MAM system for the walls of the booth, but i don't want to compromise the isolation of the room with cheap doors or improper installation. I am working under a budget, but that can be flexible depending on the effectiveness of certain materials.
What type of sliding glass doors are preferred for this type of job? Are there any within the $400-$600 range? Does anything extra need to be done with these doors once I purchase them or will proper wall installation be enough? Should these doors be erected parallel to each other, or slightly offset?
I didn't want to go ahead with anything until I was more educated about this subject. Thanks again!

you'll want good quality exterior grade doors to make a decent seal and be heavy enough to provide a decent level of isolation. these can easily exceed $600 but it cannot hurt to shop around. doors with lamented glass and magnetic seals will likely be better than plexiglass and brush and rubber seals. solid frames vs light frame, etc. given a bunch of the better doors will have double panes you'll have some 3 and 4 leaf effects but thats one of the tradeoffs vs good visibility and floor space preservation. increasing the gap between doors will help.
