Hi everbody,
this is my first post and I feel very fortunate to have found this forum!
I am in the phase of planning a new studio in the middle of Cologne, I still do not know tooo much about constructioning the studio on my own. That´s why
I decided to mostly let it be constructed by experienced people. Not to say that these guys are fit in acoustics, but they allready build some studios for television and small film companies etc.
- so I/ they need a good plan of course ;-)
So here we go:
The room size: 44.49 m2
Dimension of the room : 4.27m to 10.42 m
Height : 2.50m
Basement, old building
walls: red brick
ceiling: concrete
floor: 2 layers of plywood, underneath is concrete
Neighbors are all over, my basement room has its door in a courtyard. But
they are used to loud noises and a piano player, who was inside this room I am renting know. So I think that 45- 50 db of achieved insulation is more than enough...
1 Vocal / Recording Booth
1 Control/ Compositing Room
the rest of the room should remain open for arranging some lounge area
later on...
As You can see on the second sketch the positioning of the rooms is "quite"
made, but for the rest my sketchup skills are not good enough yet. Please forgive me if You find anything strange inside my sketch, ok?
There should be a window between vocal booth and controll room.
As mentioned before, the controll room will be also used for compositing, so there is a DAW controller, 2 Keys, 2 Drummachines, some outboard equipment, 2 turntables...
Any suggestions for studio construction and design would be highly appreciated!
Budget: 6000- 7000 US$

Anybody?
Maybe the question isn't clear.
If you have qualified help, they know what it is you are after and how to achieve this yes?
sorry for being not very clear with my words:
So even I have some workers, their knowledge about insulation and acoustics for a sound studio is limited. That´s why I´m asking for some help to design this room with studs etc.
Thanks !
