Hi all. Lots of reading and research being done here; design almost finished. 2 quick questions if I may, which hopefully should be yes / no answers ?
1 - I'm building from scratch and want to achieve the STC63 external / internal walls as the available 'sticky'. My question is, when I stagger the joints of the plasterboard (1 layer horizontal, the next 1 vertical, does it matter if the opposing sheets directly on either side of the cavity are both horizontal / vertical, or should they be staggered here as well? i.e - starting from the inside - board, board, batten / insulation, air gap, batten / insulation, board, board. If that makes sense ?
2 - due to the relatively small internal dimensions of the room (it will be a single room) I am going to put the monitors on standard metal stands behind the desk, with Auralex MoPad isolation pads. My question is, should I physically fix the stands to the floor (laminated timber) or just let them stand free ? I guess I shouldn't put any form of isolation between the stands and the floor as I have isolation between monitor and stand.
Thanks.

anyone??? I think I know the answers, just looking for confirmation really. (Nervous about making simple errors which could be resolved before the build!)
That's a good question. If it is going to keep you up at night I would start one side horizontal and start the other side vertical.
I wouldn't attach the stands especially if they are flimsy even a little bit. You would just be placing an antenna for vibrations to vibrate on.

Thanks mate. You've answered how I thought. It's the neighbours I dont want to keep up at night
Meeting architect today; design with all required info, to follow shortly, hopefully.
Cheers.
