I bought a bunch of 3/8" engineered Asian maple flooring (2mm wear layer veneer). I have a lot left over so I was thinking of cutting off the grooved part and using it on my slat resonator to give it a nice finish. I would imagine that it works just as well as a solid piece of wood but I wanted to check before I start cutting it up. -Jim

jim, the wood itself is not a problem, however, 3/8" may be a bit thin to create the slots... you'll need to perform the calculations to see what you'll need in order to treat the frequency your after. search for slot resonator, or look on Johns reference pages. sandled
The slotresonater calculater is linked in a sticky in the acoustics forum.
you could glue and screw layers together if you need more thickness.
