I thought the numbers of the columns must be a prime number, like in this example (13 x13).
The style and formulas are from the linked BBC paper. The 12 x12 array is actually made up smaller arrays. If the design was one cycle, then the usual methodology is to XxY=P-1, where P is a prime number.

No I don't know of any other than the one you linked. All the formulas are in the BBC paper. It wouldn't take much for you make an Excel sheet for it. Don't forget cell size!
