Ah yes, my friend actually interned a bit at the Eller studio.
I would love to come by to see some construction, but I'm sure you'll keep a little photo diary here, yes?

Hi everyone, I'm happy to say that ground was broken and the foundation is nearly complete. The external walls and roof should be up by end of next week. After that, the builders hand it off to little old me to try to do most of the rest by meself and friends. Yikes. I must be crazy. :!:
Just getting this far has been so many little headaches. I say that because I know I have a sympathetic and understanding audience! Sheesh. It's always something. Here's a sequence of pictures showing progress up till yesterday. I'll be posting more over the next two weeks. Please if you see something that looks wrong, let me know!
HVAC has been by and far, the most dificult aspect. I've got a foundation that can't go below 41F, so I need to have some sort of heating set up for the winter. Instead of rush the entire HVAC system, I decided to put in some electric baseboard heat now (it will be my backup later anyways because my heat pump isn't rated below ~-13F and this is Vermont after all), and then I can take my time on everything else. Due to finances and life being what it is, I am anticipating the rest of the build (the room within a room framing, eletrical and cabling, drywall, etc etc...) to take a year.
I've really done almost none of this before, so every step is somewhat agonizing. I think it's been about two years of planning just to get this far.
Hope everyone's doing well w/your respective projects!
