I have a bedroom studio and I came up with an idea for a basstrap/nightstand. I'm not sure if it would work, though, so that's why I'm posting this.
The basstrap/nightstand would be in a corner and I would use the superchunk method except the trap would be made out of square pieces of insulation instead of triangular pieces.
Now here's my question:
The nightstand would require a solid and sturdy top, but would that affect the effeciency of the bass trap at all?
Thanks in advance,
Brian
Bedroom Studio Bass Trap Idea

i would think it would be less efficient as a bass trap but it would still be better than no trapping... plus you could put something in the corner above it so the tricorners are trapped. maybe use some 2x3 to hold the table top and support the cloth (shown as cut away).
Thanks for the idea gullfo. However, I forgot to mention that this room is on the second floor of a cape cod style house, so the ceilings are slanted and there are 4 foot knee walls on the longer sides of the room.
You're right though. Even though it might be less effective, it's better than nothing. When I build it (sometime soon), I'll post pictures and show you all how it came out.
Thanks for your help!
