Hello Everyone,
I am currently designing a recording studio in the back of a barn in Howard county, Maryland, U.S.A. The space is 22' 6'" X 10' 10" X 15' 8". I know the square footage is small for two rooms but the high ceiling gives me over 3500 cubic feet of space. I am unsure of how to go about designing a studio with these types of ceilings, as I have not seen a build dairy on here that chronicles such a project. I was wondering if someone could help me with a floor plan for a two room studio and provide me with some insight on designing my ceilings. I would like the live room to be big enough to record a drum set in. I have attached a floor plan of the space as well as pictures. The two doors I have on the plan cannot be moved. I need an additional door on the lower right of the plan, its location is flexible. The site is out in the country so isolation from the main house is the only concern, it is about 200 feet away. The stairs will not be part of the room. I am currently reading Rods book. Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks!
Lee Cumberland.

it might be useful to include the stairs so you have the full space. make the ceilings nice and tall to support the bass trapping and free up the floor space.
Gullfo, thanks for your reply, I can't include the stairs because they need to be assessable from outside the studio. Here is my design for the two rooms. Both will be the full 15' 8" high. Does anyone have any comments on things I should change?
this is a case where the angled wall with a large slider comes in handy - full view into the live space and easy access in one construct. use double walls between the rooms. leverage the tall ceilings for bass trapping and in the CR front to back shaping of the room.
