Hi, I m new here and so glad of finding you guys.
I have a 100 m2 basement with 2,30 meters heigth, I need to make two controls, one for recording and the other for mixing and mastering (and also some recordings when the other is full). I also want to make 2 live rooms, one for drums and band recordings, and the other for vocals, piano, ac guitars, etc. I trying to make a design to be able of have visual contact to both rooms from the main control but im not able, any way my question is:
is this design ok?
how would you do it?

I've seen you post a few times but was waiting for one of the senior member to direct you to the "before you post read this" thread.
There are a few things you need to fix up on your thread and profile before the "experts" will give you a tip or too.
Check it out and I'm sure you will be amazed at the helpful replies that get posted

I agree with mr drum that you have some reading to do before you start this project. There's a couple of obvious mistakes. The most disastrous would be the irregular shaped control room. You need symmetry to get a balanced stereo image, placing yourself in the corner or in any unsymmetrical way will make things sound incorrect. The forum is packed with info regarding all types of questions you may have, read for a month or so and get back then..(especially the stickies)

Also, one of the control rooms is square, the worst kind of shape no matter what kind of slats or false walls you put in. The other one having the wrong orientation in terms of desk/monitor placement. My suggestion is to make one live room \w control room and one mastering/mixdown suite. Use movable partitions in the live room to create smaller "rooms" temporarily (just like adjustable absorption on the walls is desirable to go the other way so to speak).
And since it's a basement we need an idea of what the ceiling looks like, what kind of obstructions it may hold as surprises. Is the space really a tabula rasa? Some clearly marked room dimension would be nice too.
