im a little confused about why certain studios control rooms and or tracking rooms have oddly designed shapes for their ceilings. i mean i guess its a way to break up the sound waves but how would you go about designing a ceiling structure for your studio? heres some pics of my space that im working with right now. its completely bare and my plans so far are just to close off both ends by throwing up walls on both sides. creating a double door on one of the walls for the entrance. creating a drop ceiling(again uncertain of the actual ceiling design) then laying down hard wood flooring over the pre existing concrete floor. its a rectangular room with 12ft ceilings. 1000sq ft total the noise levels are a little harsh outside.

heres the opposite end. this will be covered off by a wall then a control room will be built here.

I'm sorry but Avare is right. You missed atleast something... Don't be angry with us; we love to help you out with any project. BUT, you've gotta do some homework yeself... read, read and then read this forum again. To much info in here to cram into 1 page. No.1. resource on the net for studio construction :) Read that stickie (and others) again, it's a treasure waiting for you to be found. Then come back with specific Questions and we'll answer it for sure.
definitely read up on "room within a room" because you'll probably need to do something like that to keep out the noises (as well as keep any neighbors happy)
